1. Financial Aid

You should complete the FAFSA and CSS Profile applications for the Office of Financial Aid.  If you’ve already completed the forms for this year, you need to add Michigan to the list of schools to receive your information.

2. Housing

3. Orientation

You will receive information from the University of Michigan regarding New Student Orientation. Please watch your email and respond immediately. 

4. Transportation to Campus

Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is located in Romulus, Michigan approximately 25 minutes from Ann Arbor. Amtrak depot is located in the heart of Ann Arbor minutes from campus. Below are a few options for ground transportation to campus.

5. Weather

Having the right clothing for the Michigan winter is very important. Many of the engineering buildings are connected but you will experience real winter weather on your commute to and from campus. We advise that you purchase a warm winter coat, boots, gloves, scarves, and thermal underwear. Below is a chart of the average climate in Ann Arbor.
